Fielding Coach Tenure Topic

How many seasons will a loyal fielding coach reasonably stay? I have a 62 year old fielding coach who has spent 13 seasons with my squad. 84 fielding and loyalty. However, I could instead a 25 year old rookie, 53 fielding, 86 loyalty. Those don’t come along very often for me. I’m wondering if I may be better served in going young, fearing my aging fielding coach could retire soon or take his services to the open market. However, if he’s just as likely to be available another 13 seasons, I might be better served sticking with him as it will take about 8 seasons for the rookie to reach the 80’s.

Coaches retire at age 68 or sometimes 69. And IMO the loyalty thing is more random than you'd like, but I'd hold onto that guy and hope he just goes till he retires.

Agree with damag. Also, that 53 fielding rating will slow down how quickly your prospects improve their fielding for the next several seasons, to you have to weigh that aspect, too.

Least favorite HBD activity is fielding coach hire. 3-5 mil down the drain (unless you backdoor a head coach with fielding late)
