I have the first overall pick and the guy I want to take says, "Looking to be drafted in the first round. If not, he'll probably accept a scholarship to play DI college baseball."

Will he sign for slot money? If not, any ideas how much more he will ask for?

He will initially ask for the slot price of $4M. Offer that to him. He will then come back and say something like, "I like the offer, but college is still an option". Do nothing then after 20-30 games he will come back and say, "I will sign with your club if you pay my increased asking price of....". Offer his new asking price which will be in the $5-6M range and he will be all yours.
