WHERE ARE THE PROMISED CHANGES??

Any update on anything? Since you obviously lack the skill of treating customers well, I will make a suggestion.

Perhaps instead of developing MOBILE VERSIONS of your programs, which as a company you have ZERO EXPERIENCE, you make some changes to existing programs.

Throw everyone a bone. In my case, I play HBD. Why not make the MLB Rosters 26 players like MLB did SIX YEAR ago. Having written code and developed WORKING and CURRENTLY UPDATED programs I do believe changing code from a value of 25 to 26 should not take much time.

But, hey. Go on with your ideas. WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS? Why not have open and clear communication with your customers? All i know is that the business changed hands. BIG FCKING DEAL.

MEET THE NEW BOSS. SAME AS THE OLD BOSS.

I would be happy to consult for you for $1, because you couldn't afford me and because I'll probably want deniability.

Now that I have communicated with you, MAKE SOME CHANGES. Hell even make some mistakes. JUST DO SOMETHING besides treating us like mushrooms. (If you need an explanation about the treatment of mushrooms, go look it up. Its not like you are busy on program development.)

So many false promises like before. 13 months of "New ownership" same results. Long time players leaving the game now due to the inability to make changes to make HBD like MLb baseball. Rosters to 26 players, DH in both leagues, etc. Heck all you (BOB) do is promise like previous owners and have yet to do anything to follow through on them in HBD. Many long time owners are leaving because of this. All you are doing is collecting the money from owners every season and not doing anything for it. Rah Rah Rah Blah Blah Blah. Same story, different day. I am out after this season is over as well.

Thanks for the wonderful Christmas gift you cheap fckers.

Hopefully some changes are coming soon as worlds in HBD sit waiting to fill and longtime customers are leaving.

If there was a place to leave to I would have been gone.

At some point, you have to decide if this is the game you want to play or not. After all these years, it's unlikely that any substantive change is going to happen, either because the job is too big or the resources available too small. As the audience grows smaller the chance of changes becomes less and without a large marketing budget the chances of a recovery grow dim.

I think the new owners got a code base that was a bigger mess than they imagined. Think about the simulation times taking as long in 2025 as they did 20 years ago. I wish them well and hope they can improve/rewrite the game. However, it is entertainment and if it's not fun for you then why do it?

I would agree that it seems making 26 man rosters and even updating IL options and offering a universal DH (maybe have it something worlds could toggle off, if someone wanted to keep that part old school) would be easy.

I'm especially interested in seeing draft/scouting updates but that seems to be asking far too much. That said...I still like the game.

Idk why you people get so upset about this. This is the third ownership group that has bought this website since I have been playing and all three literally said the same thing regarding grand changes and massive updates. The game was coded almost 20 years ago for Pete sake, why would anyone buy this thing to “update” it when it would be cheaper and a whole heck of a lot easier just to start from scratch.

I figure that's what the decision is: Is it possible / feasible / economic at all to do smaller cosmetic updates, or to perform a complete rewrite? Because a rewrite would require everyone restarting from scratch, relearning the new game, ending worlds, killing teams, losing histories etc. So what kind of appetite would the user base have for THAT?

I got a feeling that the new owners come in and look a pile of basically undocumented code that might be a mess. I also think that when they encounter an problem they just code randomness in if they can't figure it out. The game probably requires a complete rewrite and they don't have the resources to do that and keep the other games operating.
Think about the huge increase in computing power since HBD was launched, but it still takes the same amount of time to run the sims.

Yeah, I'd love to see some updates, too. Looking at the organization on LinkedIn, I can understand how a total rework probably isn't likely. Given my limited experience with software development lifecycles, I imagine that to get this done, you really need a product team with at least 2-3 people on it for 3-4 months, assuming it is mostly just a modernization of the current code. It's not a trivial cost, so I get that ownership may be reluctant to spend to make it happen. However, given the cost of low-level developer talent these days (outsource to dudes in India + AI vibe coding), I really am surprised these small fixes aren't being made.

Honestly, if management wanted to work with me on a low-cost/pro bono basis to scope this out (I'm a management consultant), I would enjoy doing it. It would be an interesting exercise and I would appreciate getting a better game out of it!
