Is going $0 ADV scouting really a legit strategy? Topic

Is it a proven fact that H.S., College, & International Scouting completely separate from Advanced Scouting? It has been explained to me that H.S., College, & International Scouting budgets effect how you see prospects' projected ratings BEFORE they sign, & Adavanced Scouting budget affect how you see their projected ratings AFTER they sign, & becomes obsolete when they hit 27 years old & that Advanced does not effect the other 3 at all, & Vice Versa. So if you Max out H.S., College, & International Scouting & set Advanced Scouting to Zero, then they way you see a guys projected ratings before they sign will be the most accurate snap shot of what they're projected ratings will end up being & then once they sign ot will be way off but you can just ignore & member that what you saw resigning will be the most likely outcome, plus you can just look at what their current rating is, how've they've been progressing & what their makeup is to predict how their rating will end up. Plus again what's they hit 27, their progression is complete. Is this accurate? Thanks!!!

What you have been told is the principles which any of us who zeroes out Advance Scouting works by.
An old gamer here once explained it simply that "you really only benefit from Advanced if you regularly trade for other teams' (under-27) prospects and you have to have the most accurate projections to make your decisions with."

Imagine what you can do with an extra 20mil

Exactly! That's why I'm going to give this strategy a shot...

If you're really motivated to minimize the disruption a $0 ADV budget, keep a spreadsheet of draft prospects' and international prospects' projected ratings before they are drafted or signed. Later you can refer to them if you want to trade for them.

Diamond in the Rough - If you are running a $0M advanced budget, the new projected ratings of a DitR will be way off and no way to know what they really are.

After I draft my top picks - always with a full budget- I copy their scouting data into the player notes for future reference.

I think the exception to this is if you draft or IFA sign a guy who gets DITR in his first season. The college or international scout’s ratings will be adjusted to reflect the DitR bump. For the college ratings you need to look at the “amateur draft pool” page. If it’s an ifa, you need to have saved one of the messages from the negotiations. But the projections definitely increase if they DITR in their first year.

I’m still gathering data to find out how accurate the revised projections are, but I have a feeling they’re not far off.
