Well he didn't quit. He has one HBD team, the Indianapolis Ignition in the Uncle Charlie World.

Mike answered virtually all of my endless questions over the years, which earned him the right to be a curmudgeon in my book. He was also effective at driving away some of real cancer around here: cheaters/alaises/etc. He also led goofy sideshow discussions in chat, which made worlds more social and improved owner retention, at least among those that don't get triggered easily.

Mike felt that worlds are better off when lame ducks are replaced before the season ends (to sign FAs, reduce fatigue-related injuries, make promotions and so forth before rollover), but current WIS administration held that the resulting impact on win/loss record-keeping overweighed those benefits (which seems shortsighted, particularly if the incoming owner agrees to it, and since overall record doesn't garner benefits anyway).

Love him or hate him, he must have had an impact. I can guarantee that if the title of this thread were, "Is Selvendar dead?" it wouldn't be three stinkin' pages long. Actually, it probably wouldn't be this long if it were about anyone who has posted here so far. So I guess MikeT23 is like Donald Trump. Some people love him, some people hate him...he's obviously a divisive figure on this website, and apparently he's very much alive.

I refuse to divulge my opinion about the man here. I just don't know him well enough to say anything on the matter. There are two things I'm pretty confident about, however. First, he's banned from these forums. Second, its probably not something that prevents him from actually reading all of this. I'm sure he's quite pleased that he hasn't been forgotten.

I guarantee he's reading every word of this. You won't find a bigger egomaniac around.

Admin doesn't take being told he's an idiot very well. To be fair, most people don't, but the guy here is in over his head and just can't handle things. His solution is to ban people when he's losing the argument.
7/5/2018 3:20 PM
Given all the people that Mike had banned in the past because he had previous admins wrapped around his finger, you won't find anyone that feels sorry for him.
7/6/2018 4:16 PM
Didn't ask anyone to feel sorry for anyone. Mike is his own person for better or worse.

**sigh** Let this thread die.

He's really not dead. As long as we remember him

What’s the new site? Sitemail me if not allowed to post here or whatever
The same please.

I don't think they'll throw your off for posting here.

That might be the one thing that could cause a sizeable exodus of long-term HBD players. Censorship ain't cool.
So Mike is the very reason for the demise of HBD, but you want to know what site he's playing on now? Interesting.
I'm starting with the assumption that another company might not let him get away with what WIS let him get away with for years.

He helped me quite a bit. Answered my many questions. And I'm not alone by the looks of his 1100+ page thread.. Wish him well.

The damage he did to HBD's growth back when it was growing and then more or less stable is as much the reason HBD is where it is today as anything owners of WIS did or did not do.

I doubt many are left who recall how he and a team of other trolls (who blindly followed his lead) used to target and harass people until they quit. Or threaten they would quit all their worlds if they didn't get their way.

He drove a lot of people away from HBD. That WIS ownership let him rule the forum and heap abuse is the reason I stopped recommending the game. He was poison.

His trolling and WIS decision to let him do it are both to blame. I can't blame one more than the other. That was the team that defined the HBD experience for anyone who ever checked out the forum.

He mellowed as the years went by. In part because fewer new people started playing HBD and the forums got less active. Fewer people for him to troll. And his sycophants mostly dropped out of the game. I'm sure they are all happily trolling other forums today.
Naw, some of us are still here.

Mike was a great commish, shared knowledge of the game and ran a good world with MG. It would be nice to have him - or solid players that are MIA - back in action. WIS needs more active, reliable and trustworthy participants. He was one.

Wow, it’s been two years since Mike left? Wow, time flies.
