Time Machine Progressive

The year is 1979, and MLB has totally disbanded over the CBA. A few ex players got together to start a new league for the players, by the players!

The league will begin in 1980, but there’s a few things that has to get done first!

We are rounding up 24 owners to run the teams, then each owner will decide on a city that’s never had a MLB team, as not to break any laws! Then you will pick a mascot for said city, this can not be a phrase, it must be a mascot of some kind. Then the 24 owners will have to get together and draft there teams!

We will draft from the draft pool of all players that have a qualifying season in 1980.

We will have a 25 round draft. 24 players from this pool, and then a Special Time Machine Player! (The Time Machine Player, a.k.a. TMP will be explained below)

All players will progress 1 season at a time as a normal progressive league.

The TMP draft round will be in reverse order of round one to even things out.

We are waiting until after the normal draft to allow you to draft your TMP to fit your teams needs.

The TMP can be ANY player of any position (Hitter or Pitcher) from any time before 1980 that will not result in a clone.

You can start your TMP in any of his seasons, from there he will progress normally, 1 season at a time. If your TMP runs into a season where he didn’t have a qualifying season, he will skip to his next qualifying season, no IR for the TMPs!

Each team will get a new TMP every 10 seasons (1990, 2000, 2010, 2020) BUT, it has to be a player never drafted as a TMP before. This new TMP player draft will be a random draw draft order. I will keep a running list.

No Salary Cap

Yes Trades, including draft picks from up to 2 seasons ahead.

Trades can be vetoed as per normal.

After each season, you will protect 20 players or less before the next seasons draft.
