I came back because of the new ownership. I thought for sure that they would reenergize the entire website and refresh everything. We were supposed to get updates every two weeks from the owner, that hasn't happened. There have been no game updates to any of the games as far as I can tell. I heard they partnered with a podcast for advertising. Like, that's it? Super disappointing.

The April 22 update at least touches on a couple of those issues. I think progress is going to come slowly, but even slow progress would be more than we have seen in recent years.

I think positive changes are going to happen, it just takes time. Software systems like those behind all of the dynasty games are very complex; they can't just come in and start messing with code when they don't have a full understanding of it. My guess is that we are talking a minimum of six months just to fully understand the current code for any given game, then another six months of deciding what to change and how best to implement the changes, then another six months of actually doing the coding - so a year and a half minimum to see meaningful changes. It might be quicker just to write everything from scratch, but that has its risks as well.

I know that is not what anyone wants to hear, but it's most likely the reality. Software systems are like aircraft carriers, they can't just turn on a dime, and if someone tries to make them the results are not good. I'm going to stay patient for quite a bit longer before I start doubting the new ownership.

I have given up communicating with any coaches in either of my two worlds. There is no communication even in my own conference. For the first time I did not send a congratulatory note to the team that knocked me out of the playoffs in Rockne. Why? I haven't received a note from any coach where I have won for many seasons now. I look and almost never find a note to a winning coach to any team of the playoffs. I recently won a game against a coach that has eliminated me from the playoffs in several different worlds. Always sent a note. Did I get one back on my victory? Nope. It is ok. It is just how this aspect of the game has now developed.
