When did the change in ownership happen?
I think about 1.5 years ago. No tangible improvements to this game in that time
What are you talking about? They added a mobile app for a different game on the site, so naturally we should pay more out of pocket to support that.

IMO, if they are cash strapped or looking for more profit, it would have been better to raise the prices and leave the rewards alone. Making your reward money only 50 percent is really a screw job. I have been a member since 03 and it may be time for me to move on.

I spend like $200-$250 a year on 4 basketball teams and 1 baseball team. I consider that pretty cheap entertainment.

Are some of you guys spending more than that? Is it the fact that you were playing for "free" basically and now it has a cost so you are thinking of leaving?

I just see several people mention price as a reason to leave and I feel the price is very reasonable. The lack of updates and the overall experience could be better.

Yeah, as soon as I have to pay out of pocket I'm out. And even though they're not getting any money from me, when I leave somebody else will be taking those S16 and E8 spots that I usually occupy currently, so they'll lose money from those players.
Or those coaches will remain and feels a sense of accomplishment, resulting in more long-term money spent, maybe? Who knows but the pessimistic hypotheticals are boring imo.

For your comment about the app "They added a mobile app for a different game on the site, so naturally we should pay more out of pocket to support that." - they started by updating their biggest money maker first (SLB), and now want to move onto Dynasty games (HD, HBD, etc.). They want more developer man power to do so. They're using money from SLB, I'm sure, to help get devs... which in turn will help with HD improvements. Where are you even getting that increasing HD revenue is to boost SLB? How would that be logical? I'm really tired of people turning off their brains before spouting off so confidently lol. It's so old.

Also, I'm guessing you largely play for free based on your moderate success at D3. I've never understood, even as someone who plays free, the entitlement of "Wait, I learned how to play so I should play free". Wouldn't the better business model be to get the people most interested inthe game to pay more, and the ones who aren't committed to play for free/less?

I think the argument over the playing free is that there's been plenty of times over the years where people planned to quit because the game had grown stale and was losing members, but playing for free or nearly free for a lot kept a reason to keep playing. Ultimately it helps keeps the user base up, which means more people competing for those credits. If you have a smaller user base, the reduction in credits could be offset by the reduction in users who would otherwise be paying. As someone who has almost quit a few times over the last 18 years, the credits always kept me playing which in turn usually results in me paying for a portion of my seasons.
