Pulling scholarship II Topic

If you have a recruit yellow with two other schools and you accidentally pull the scholarship and he is considering only those two schools, will he consider you again if you put more money on him or will he stay red?

It's never about money. It's about effort. We know turning a recruit green (if he's considering at least one SIM AI school) takes way more effort than to turn him yellow. HOWEVER, given my experience, if you pull a scholarship from him it takes more effort to turn him yellow now than it would have taken to originally turn him green. And to turn him green after pulling a scholarship requires about double the effort of what it would have taken to turn him green originally. Regardless, it's about effort not money. IE you and I are battling for a player inside my 360 but outside your 1500. You sending him five campus visits costs more money (about $10,000) than me sending him ten campus visits (about $8,000). Although you've spent more money, I've put forth more effort (your five campus vists compared to my ten campus visits) - and that's what's important to the recruit.

I don't agree with what majique is saying.

If you pull a scholarship on a guy, consider him to be whatever he was when you started. But also consider your actions towards him have less value as each cycle passes vs the cycle before. Majique is telling you it will cost more to turn the player green just because you pulled the scholarship. This isn't true. It will cost more because you're now x or xx cycles into recruiting and each campus visit has less value the more cycles take place as you go along into recruiting. So if you're creating a formula it wouldn't matter anything that you had pulled a scholarship. Any increase in effort would come from the decrease in value of efforts over time.

I turned him back yellow considering me and another but eventually lost the battle.

"If you pull a scholarship on a guy, consider him to be whatever he was when you started" is a belief falacy. It's more realistic to consider him "out of your vision" after you pull the scholarship but the caveat is instead of being permanently out of your vision, he'll at least listen to you and let you try to convince him and you are still able to sign him with enough effort. There was a discussion that included WIS Staff years ago that mentioned once you pull the recruit's scholarship he gets ****** off at your school and all your previous effort is erased. Hence, you start from zero effort on the recruit AND you have to go above and beyond to get him to even consider you. Granted the example in previous posts mentions SIM AI recruits. So yes, you need more effort because you'd be deeper into the recruiting days. However, to prove the fact more effort would be needed because a scholarship was pulled I did three separate experiments (DII, DIAA, and DIA) and the control was that the recruit was UNDECIDED when I turned him green. I used an undecided recruit to ensure he wasn't receiving any effort from any other school. In each instance I was able to turn the recruit green with a set amount of effort. After I pulled the scholarship, it took about twice the effort to get the recruit green again. I'll also add that unlike recruits considering a SIM AI school where they continually place effort on the recruit each cycle (hence requiring a human to expend more effort to sway the recruit with each passing recruiting cycle) I believe it takes less effort to turn an undecided green the deeper into recruiting cycles we get. IE, the closer we get to signing the less picky a recruit gets. Some could argue that undecided recruits late into recruiting are generally scrubs anyway but until someone completes a worthy experiment I guess we're all just guessing. ;)

i have not experimented per say, but my experiences back up with majique's test suggests. if i take a schollie off, im signing the line that says i don't care about this player whatsoever. even if i accidentally do it. time to pretend that guy doesn't exist. one of those things you don't know till you know though.

I disagree completely with everything you're saying. I have pulled scholarships from guys and routinely flipped them back from undecided with a phone call or sophomore start, which is exactly what had flipped them before. I have never pulled a scholarship from someone green and had any extra effort needed to flip them back to green.

Then WIS has given you the golden ticket.

WIS Staff reply:
If a scholarship is withdrawn you can basically consider any previous effort into the player to be wiped. If he was green, he will go undecided for a cycle and if he was considering other AI/humans prior to the withdrawal he will go back to considering those teams that have put effort into him. If the player was originally undecided he will remain as such (pending no other teams have started putting effort into him). You CAN get back onto the player but you'd essentially need to make up all the recruiting effort you lost (as I mentioned pretty much all prior effort is wiped when the rescind happens). In terms of the lockout, he won't necessarily not consider you again. This would depend on the amount of effort the other teams have placed into the player and if it's a substantial amount of effort then it could feel like you're "locked out."

LMFAO....Dense? Dense could describe a person who reads something that clearly indicates the author and yet critizes someone else! In the words of Carlos Mencia "Dee dee dee"! Nothing after the colon in that post is from me. I simply provided a reply from WIS. Got an issue with that, contact WIS!

I like this. This was exactly what had happened. I put more effort in him, but it seemed like my previous effort, before I accidently pulled the scholarship, never happened. Thanks for the info!!

going from what wis said, it makes it sound like you just start back at zero. i figured you started back at zero, and the recruit would make it harder for you by not taking your stuff at first. i haven't really played around with it. i don't usually offer scholarships the first day, or two sometimes. but, the few times ive had to deal with it it seemed like the recruit didn't want my visits. i took that as a sign that the recruit was going to make it harder for me, but in reality it could have just been rng. sometimes recruits dont take your stuff right away at zero effort.

i remember a qb i accidentally pulled his schollie, i can't for the life of me remember which team though. i immediately tried to get back on him. he took 9 of the 15 cvs i sent, but he was still red. i had turned him green for 15 and a soph start. i backed off because i had a feeling it was going to be an unnecessary expense. i figured he was turned off to me now. considering that WIS ticket, it could be explained away when the cycle rolls over sims can put effort on him again.

Yes, papa, you are right with the “going back to zero” aspect. There’s no “angry recruit” or whatever nonsense dude is talking.

"There’s no “angry recruit” or whatever nonsense dude is talking." Ya, I'm sure we all agree that whenever a recruit cancels all the effort he previously received and makes the team start from zero it's a clear sign the recruit is thrilled, happy, elated, ie "not angry". LMMFAO at this "dude"!
