I've been playing this game for a while now and I've done pretty well. I've won 8 NCs and tons of conference titles and playoff games. But I've never been able to make a team dominant long term. I've also lost a lot of NCs because my team was good enough to get there then I often get blown out. I guess my game planning is decent but my player ratings can't compete with the best teams.
What am I doing wrong?
Should I ONLY be recruiting H and VH recruits?
I've been playing my freshman and sophomores on 1st and 2nd down against all sims. They all get plenty of playing time. I thought playing time was the key. Apparently it isn't.
I'm thinking I'm just not recruting players with enough potential and work ethic. If that's the case how is it possible to do better when you have a lot of competition for the best recruits - especially when some of them are not very close to your area?
I typically recruit the best players closest to me first then expand out from there. But when I get into battles for the best players it often end up in huge costs and when I lose those battles (somewhat often) all that recruiting money is gone then I end up with sim recruits.
I feel like I'm almost to the point of being able to put together some really good runs but something is missing.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
