Welcome everyone who has played in a FUNtoon League before and to anyone new who wants to try out.
To anyone who doesn't FUNtoon is a bot which I have programmed to choose players/teams for use on WhatIfSport, there are roughly 2300 players in the database from all eras.
For the purpose of this league, all the players will be classified in one of six categories, Perfect, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Iron.
There are roughly 30 Perfects, 70 Diamonds, and the lists get bigger all the way down to Iron.
So what is a Rainbow Pack? A Rainbow Pack is a term used in Out of the Park Baseball's Perfect Team for a pack which contains one of each type of player.
I will program FUNtoon to give everyone a random Rainbow Pack using my database, giving you all six players (there will likely be a little duplication but everyone will have a different overall list).
Those six players must appear on your roster, and the other 19 players are teammates of those six in the same year they played together, NO TWISTING.
So for example, if you get Randy Johnson as your gold card, you use his 2004 season to fulfil that requirement, and anyone who played with him is allowed. So you can have 1994 Griffey, 1996 A-Rod, etc. Since Randy Johnson only played for the Astros in 1998, if you want Biggio or Bagwell it can ONLY be 1998, as so on.
The Card Shop:
Everyone is allowed one free trade of equal value with the card shop, additional trades add $5M to your salary
Trades:
Trades between managers are allowed, however there is a $2M processing free per card, which doubles to $4M for diamonds and perfects. Trades MUST be equal number and rank (no silvers for golds, or 2 for 1s etc.)
Why are we ADDING salary? Because there is no salary cap, but teams will be grouped based on total salary. The top 4 will be in the AL East, the bottom 4 in the NL West. Being frugal can be rewarding and land you in an easier division, also this will make it so someone who doesn't get the best draw can still complete for a playoff spot!
