made my move to dI - something i've never done before. I have a very low prestige, and lots of holes to fill. I'm looking for advice on how to even out classes, how to deal with the extra players left by the sim before me *yay crappy pfs* ..

anyway the big questions are how to deal with such low prestige - is it attack and hope or wait and pick?

how to even out the classes? do i take jucos and transfers in this first class or do i find 5 starters and a backup and just go for it?

how long do people get in dI before they get fired?

I am new to DI and I only had 4 scholarships to fill so I have no idea about your first question. As for the low prestige question I went after kids under 200 miles away after the first cycle to see what hasnt been looked at yet and I went after the guys I wanted and just kept watching every period to see if anyone went after my guys.

cut every crappy player who isn't a senior. a walk on is better than multiple seasons with crap. recruit the best players you can find within 370 miles of campus, regardless of position or class. these recruits will be sorta decent at best. It is your 5th class that really matters generally... get your team better and start beating the sims and crappy humans. Doing this isnt that differnt than D II. Once you figure that out, ask someone else how to take it to the next level and compete with the elites, coz I don't have it figured out yet.

Wow the seniors are great but those PF's really suck.

didn't want to start another thread so I'll put it in here. I'm also brand new to DI and wondering how big a prestige difference there is between D prestige DI school and B+ DII school? Is it quite a bit?

A while back I heard having multiple walkons could slow the development of your whole team. Someone else may need to confirm this but I believe it was once true. For total rebuilds I target freshmen with high potential and work ethic numbers and try to give them 20 plus minutes of playing time in year one. You'll suffer and lose at first but by year two and three you'll benefit. Additionally, take your lowest overall ranked recruited player with a strng work ethic and red shirt him.

I've joined D1 recently and also have low prestige, but my recruting class from last year experienced significant gains in 1 season's time. Just some ideas from someone who is also new to D1....good luck.
