Quick Questions : Rescinding Topic

Once you get a new job can you rescind a scholarship?  Do you get recruiting $ for the players you just cut?

You can rescind a scholarship once the season rolls, but it would work the same as if you were the coach the previous season.  You wouldn't get the recruiting $ until the next season comes around.

You wouldn't get a chance to clear out the players you don't want before the next season starts and then immediately get the $, which is what it sounds like you're asking.

BUT- on rare cases (happened to me only once), when you cut a player, others may leave as well when you take over a new job.

Yes, there is little risk in cutting a player that you didn't recruit when you first take a job (e.g. no loyalty hit).   I believe that some have mentioned other players can get mad and either leave or take WE hits, but I think that is only at DI.

You will not get additional recruiting dollars in that season.   For that reason, there isn't much point to rescinding a senior's scholarship.  However, I will, and just did, rescind a no-talent underclassmen's scholarship (so long as I did not recruit them).

<- was at DII for me that the other guy left.

I had my starting PG leave at D-III when I cut a terrible backup player after I switched jobs. It doesn't sound like it happens often, but there is a chance
