Pulling a scholarship Topic

During recruiting if you turn a recruit green to your team that started out with 3 sim teams on him, offer a scholarship and later pull that scholarship does the recruit go back to showing the sims that were on him previously or does he go to Undecided?

Any schools he was considering will reappear as long as they still have scholarships remaining AND weren't out "efforted" by another school. In other words, any school who put recruiting effort into that recruit may also appear if the effort was enough for the recruit to consider that school now that he's no longer green to anyone.

That was my thought majique. But thats not what they are telling me. They said the recruit will go to 'undecided' for one cycle and then the SIM's will show back up.
The response I got was:

Hello Jimmy,

The recruit was considering one human team previously and that team rescinded the scholarship offer to the player. When that happens there is a temporary, one cycle where the player shows "undecided." The player then goes back to the original teams they were considering before recruiting started. In this situation the effort you put into the player wasn't enough to match the effort Baylor had previously put in and the player signed with the sim AI team.

Any time I have pulled a scholarship whoever was on them previously showed up immediately. This sounds like CS making something up.

it could be me, but that doesn't make sense to me. why would you have to match baylor's effort? if baylor pulls a schollie they have no effort now. you are trying to beat the sim's effort. who isn't on them for a cycle allegedly. so that should be no effort also. they never used to go undecided for a cycle, but they have messed with some things the last couple years. like now the recruits can tell if you have money left to offer them or not. i suspect something is happening that doesn't have the understanding of the team yet.

Wait what? Recruits can tell if you have money left?

Yep if they are considering you and someone else, you havent offered, and you get below $100 they will sign with the other guy the next cycle. Or sim. I haven’t tested to see if they go undecided in the event they are only considering you, but i would guess they do. Its an intended feature that i was told has been in for years. So it could have been there a long time, but i never noticed it until a couple months ago. They rejected the idea that the recruits “know” how much money we have, but acknowledged thats how it works. Since they aren’t real and can’t think i guess i see the point but i thought it was weird to make the distinction because that is effectively what they are doing.

Could we then take this one step further and surmise that the recruits who are yellow with us and another human, but take forever to sign, know the team not in the lead has enough money to flip them?

i would have never imagined until my interaction with customer support regarding the recruits knowing whether or not i can offer them. considering that i would say its possible, but i would lean tepidly toward no. i can't recall a time since that issue with the scholarship where i was out of money and didn't have the lead. im sure it has happened, but i don't remember -- probably blocked it out. on the other hand even when i barely have the lead, and the recruit takes forever to sign, it is more often than not that the other coach ends up taking a walk on. the fact that they know we can't offer makes me question a lot of things i thought i knew lol.

my guess, which is worth very little here honestly, is that it was an addition to help 1aa coaches out a bit. if a 1a team has the lead but doesn't offer, he will just sit there till the end. this way at least if the 1a team is out of money the 1aa guy can get his recruit sooner. its not really a big deal to wait for the last cycle to turnover to fill, but it's like a quality of life thing is my guess.

Hmmmm, I believe the recruit in question was a TE, which I was no longer targeting. The recruit was deciding between Baylor and SIM Colorado. On my end, once I rescinded the scholarship, the recruit showed as "Undecided". I can't speak for what others see on their end. To be honest, I never really gave it any consideration until this topic arose.

Nope, that wasnt the recruit in question.

Then you got me, brother-LOL, either way, interesting topic and conversation.
