I thought I'd just post and ask whether folks have found HBD results to be odd lately -- I'm down to one team, and that team saw a bizarre turn of fortune for the negative when our new season started, which of course is within the realm of statistical probability: sometimes you can just get a long string of bad luck, and I get that.

But that, combined with the site loading so slowly for the past week, has my tinfoil hat perched atop my skull.

Do folks in other worlds have any reason to believe anything about the code base has changed?

It would appear that whatif sports was purchased by people who know nothing about the product or how to fix it. They simply perpetuate a tremendous amount absolute BS to ride this money making wave as far as possible. someone may see this and decide to defend the game and all it's quirks. Most likely they are indeed employed by whatif sports and it is in there best interest to do so.

In my world "Around the Horn" , I signed a pitcher to a max deal in free agency. This pitcher was a, type-A free agent, which would require me to lose my 1st rd.pick below 16. The pitchers former franchise should have been awarded my 1st rd. pick #28 overall. Instead for some strange reason, they were given my 2nd rd. pick #93 overall, along with the typical supplemental pick at the end of rd. 1 that would be given to a type-A free agent. Five days later, which is what ? 15 HBD days. I signed another free agent who was coming down in price. I signed this RP to a 2 year deal worth 2.5 mil. per year. He was also a type-A free agent, and his former club was indeed awarded my 1st rd. pick #28 overall and a higher supplemental pick than the previous for mentioned franchise.

zooey, yes they did some type of upgrade that has caused the system to act up. My guess would be new hardware or a significant programming change. Admin responded to my ticket and stated there was a new change to the system but didn't explain or go into any details. I mentioned that back in the days before the site was sold to fox, admin announced that changes were being made and if it was a change to the programming or a fix for a glitch or to enhance the operation this was told to us. This was met with a cordial statement but again no clarification. So something was done that has messed the way the site works but admin doesn't appear to want us to know what was done.

pages loading slow for a web service is just terrible.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Yeah, to have the game suddenly start behaving differently is just...weird. Feels real bad!

OK, thanks for posting; it's been a nightmare to load boxscores and get to the next page. Let's hope this gets fixed soon; taking up to 5 minutes to load a page. No bueno.
