The Next Update for HBD Topic

I'd like to see a "World History" page where one can see, in one place, a grid with a row for each year listing the World Series participants (teams and owner), and the various award winners.

Also, a "Current Owners" page which would list all 32 owners, their team in the world, number of seasons the owner has been with that team in the world, the W/L record for the owners (world and overall), and the number of WS titles for each owner (world and overall).  This could give you a quick overview of longevity and stability of world owners, which could be a reflection of the world itself.

I really like these, especially the first. I'd like to expand on tec's idea with a season-by-season "almanac," especially now that some worlds are 20+ seasons into their history. I envision this as something like a tab off the World Office header, with each season's pennant winners, award winners and leaders in major statistical categories (AVG, HR, RBI , SB, Wins, SO, ERA, Saves) listed. This would make something genuinely interesting and helpful.

I'd like to see an overall focus on preserving/organizing world histories before we go monkeying with the game engine just yet.

I agree with this. One of the things that first lured me to HBD was the historical aspect, but it is sorely lacking in many areas.

I think they are unwilling to add to records because of space issues.  I love the "almanac" idea though.

Just a few weeks ago the website was down while they upgraded. Hopefully they added a couple hundred terabytes of storage.

1. I'd like to see all spring training games use the DH to get more ABs for the hitters.
2. I'd like to be able to buy multiple season packs for the same world at a discount.
3. I'd like to see the AI autofill MiL teams that don't have a minimum number of pitchers and position players.
4. I'd like to see a report that shows the number of player-games missed per team due to injuries.
5. I'd like more control to be able to allocate resources to develop/maintain skills of ML players and prospects (separate from or instead of the current coaching process.)
6. If the current coaching system is to be retained, I'd like to see all of the coaches ratings continue to evolve as they age, ie why doesn't patience or discipline ratings go up or down?

- If possible, make filding positions less interchangeable (switching between 3B and RF with little difference).  Or at least make the glove requirements for each position more logical.  Why does a CF need the best glove when he is catching fly balls, while 3Bs deal with hard grounders and bad hops and 1Bs dealing with all kind of throws.

- Fix the demotion penalties so they make sense.  Demoting your 12th pitcher mid-season generally causes a hit, but an MVP with options can be demoted at the end of the season, spend the 1st 20-25 games in AAA to hold back on service years, and he doesn't mind.

I would like the HD potential system and FSS services implemented in HBD so we have varying levels of development for players.

1. Coaches that sign for millions one season should demand at least the same amount of money the following season.  (i.e., fielding instructors that sign for $4 million shouldn't ask for $500K the next season).  This will make teams have more highly varying fielding budgets and make spending big bucks on fielding coaches an actual strategic budget decision.

2.  To make the minors (and the AFL!) more useful:  Introduce a "fielding familiarity" value.  Joe Centerfielder might have 85 range and 85 glove but if he has never played second base then he shouldn't just make a seamless transition.  "Fielding familiarity" builds as you play games at the position in the minors or majors.

3. Display more than the Top 5 (Top 25!  More!)  for each category for the Player Records.  If this requires eliminating most of the existing categories (i.e., if only "homers", "wins", "batting average" and a few others make the cut) then so be it.   It's a Dynasty game and fun to watch your players climb the lists.

4. Some of the top free agents should sign earlier (even if there are multiple teams bidding).  Early signings "set the market".  As long as everyone gets eight or ten cycles to put in their best offers then let some FAs sign as opposed to letting teams "game" the bidding process.  Teams interested in signing guys might just have to bid more and bid sooner.

On the Standings page I would like to see the magic number added. Also something showing a team clinched their division.

-Add a graphical game replay option like Out of the Park Baseball or the old MicroLeague Baseball. Would love to see the stadiums.
-Customizable team colors and logos
-Create a NL and AL Franchise of the Year award based on most wins through all levels with a bonus for playoff wins. Give a $ credit to each owner. Should help improve the health and apathy of minor league play.
-Change the coaching engine or make coaches' contracts non-guaranteed and allow us to fire them during the season

The medical bug needs to be fixed:

The demotion penalties need to make more sense.  It's simply unrealistic to think that most players will take a demotion hit when going to AAA.

1. +1 4. I'd prefer some sort of Gossip/Hot Stove 'notifications' on guys you have on your FA target lists. Desirable FA contract demands/offers get leaked to the media all the time, in the same way it's known that guys start lowering their demands if they get no interest. There should be more transparency on FA contract offers, not to the level of "Team X has offered $Y over z years", but something along the line of "Player X is reported to have received an offer of $Y". At the moment if you switch targets mid FA period, you have no idea what level of offer you need, and since you can't offer to multiple targets, that's a significant disadvantage if you should be switching to option 3, but you are wasting time finding out whether you have enough for option 2. You would get faster FA decisions as market value would be established faster, people wouldn't be able to bid slowly in increments, since they would reasonably know the ballpark value of what is being offered, and since there is some transparency you get owners switching to backup options sooner.
