Hated to lose Carew buts that's the breaks. I have a question though. If someone is on IR in '72 & '73 should they be on the available list we have. The player I'm asking about is active in '71 but inactive untill '74 so if he is picked does it count as a pick or should he even be available until he is back in the database? I hate to hold up the draft but this player is good enough this needs to be answered.

This isn't who I really wanted but for this league it won't be a bad pick so the Angels will select Bobby Bonds - OF.

If I understand the rules, sjpihonakjr is not required to select Johnny Bench in the first round.

If sjpihonakjr decides to select some other player available to the Cincinnati Reds, Bill Plummer for example, instead of Johnny Bench with his first pick.

Then Johnny Bench becomes available to any and every team immediately.

If I understand the rule right- doesn't the Red have the whole 1st round to draft Bench. So if they pass on him with their first pick they could always trade back into the first round to select him with that pick. I'm I correct?

I'm not really sold on my fist pick but he has 2 real good season and for this league he will work out OK. Houston will take Claude Osteen - P.
