Rescind Scholarship? Topic

If I rescind a guy right before recruiting starts, will I take a hit in anything? Loyalty or Rep? I did not recuirt the guy, Sim did and he is a SR just wasting a spot for me right now.

You'll be fine, do it.

Yes, a minor hit to your rep of about 1/3 of a letter grade.

Actually, dropping one non-recruited player will not lower your rep. Even if you rep is lowered, it will have no practical effect on your signings. There is an extremely small chance that another player (who you don't want to lose) will get angry and leave. You won't know this until after it happens, but I have never had it happen (I think few have), and it's simply not worth holding onto the poor Sr IF you have another solid recruit to take his place. Good luck.

Yes, it does lower your rep, but that change is usually so minor that it's hard to notice.

That senior will be gone in a year anyway. Sometimes its better to let him rot at the end of the bench and not try to fill 2 spots with money for 1. (or 4 with money for 3, you get the picture).
I won't cut a bad senior. A junior or sophomore, now that's a different story.

Well he is one of 8 seniors I'll be losing next season, so getting another freshman in to get better for a year would be a big plus as long as I am not hurting my rep or loyalty.

adam914, I think you're looking at it correctly. I checked out your team, and I assume Grow is the player, and he is pretty poor for DI. fencer brings up a solid point, but if you're able to feel confident in the cycle just before signings that you've got an extra player to sign (who's worth giving up the extra spot of cash next year), I say go for it.

With replacing that many, I'd almost just go for a JC or transfer this year who is anything but a senior - get a head start on re-balancing out your classes a little.

I have a senior I want to drop. I am returning 5 seniors this year so I hate that next year I would have 5 freshman. Plus I signed 2 for hardly any money. I got plenty of recruiting dollars. Should I go for it?

So, dumb question, if you rescind a scholarship, you get it added to your current recruiting allotment? Say you had 2 guys to recruit before, you rescind a guy, now you have 3 available schollies and money to boot?

you have the additional scholarship, but you do not get any additional money for that spot this year.
