Moving into D-II Topic

Guys, I'm trying to get an idea of what the major differences between coaching in D-I and D-2. I'm sure that I'll be coaching against more humans and that recruiting will be tougher, but are there any obatacles I haven't discovered? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

You get more $. Better players. better coaches. and thats really it. You can pull down d1 players and there will be a bigger change from crappy-decent-great players. you get some coaches who pull down d1 types and some guys that skim of the top of the d3 screen. pull downs are a must to build a low level d2 team to an upper level. Once at the upper level you can get dropdowns which are less risky

What some adjustments in your game preparation that you made when you moved into D-II?

I do basically the same gameplanning for both. I just concentrate on recruiting better players. With the extra $ pulldowns are less risky then in d3. You can watch the top teams to try to get a handle on what kind of players are available and what you should be striving for.

superdawg, don't over think this. There is very little difference between DIII and DII, with the exception of the fact that you get more recruiting money. Gameplanning and all the other stuff isn't affected a bit.

Now, going from DII to DI, that's an entirely different animal, mostly in the recruiting area.
