Dead Ball 5 Year Progressive
I have been doing some research and their are enough players to do a 1885 to 1899 progressive with the format being 16 teams and the draft being held in 3 year increments. The format will be 4 divisions of 4 teams.
Before I go too far with setting up the league I want to make sure at least a little interest is here.
The basic format will be:
Season 1-players from 1885-1887
Season 2-players from 1888-1890
Season 3-players from 1891-1893
Season 4-players from 1894-1896
Season 5-players from 1897-1899
The Draft will be snake style in season one with random order for draft. For the final 4 seasons draft will be based on a combination of previous seasons record and current season salary. (Since this is a work in progress this rule may be tweaked)
As with all progressive leagues players you draft are your property until you trade, release them or they retire.
When you draft a player for the season you have the choice to use any season which falls in the 3 year span.
It would be fun to play a real dead ball league instead of just picking and choosing the cookies from the era.

Don't think this has been done before-for sure not live.
