I'm pretty sure i've read that guys can get injured off the field, is that true?

My pitcher is out for 140 days and wasn't ever in the game.

I do have one issue with this. He was scheduled to start the next game. Well, with the injury, it reverted back to my #1 pitcher who was at 32%. Seems like a rare case, but in the event of an injury to the starter, a team should be allowed to make a "gameday" change of the starting pitcher. I know its slightly unfair for the opponent. But its the same as if he made one pitch and got hurt.

I've had long-term off-field injuries. Your pitcher should have been skipped if auto-rest was higher than 32%. If it was lower than 32%, I'd ask "Why?"

Not all that unusual. It's a situation where he was diagnosed at a later date from when the injury actually occurred.

You see it in real life, where it's decided that a player will be scheduled for surgery in a couple of weeks to fix some nagging problem, but he is still available to play up until the date of the surgery.
