I've had some success with low vL pitchers. With all of his other numbers, your guy will be better than these:

Your guy should be better than Brooks if he hits his projections, but at 23, he should be almost there by now.

No walks, no homers, lots of strikeouts, lots of double plays. Sign me up. I'd consider him as a closer actually. Especially with only 3 pitches (I like starters to have at least 4 pitches) and 2 of the pitches are over 85. He could be a 2 inning closer and pitch almost every day.

That's a little radical though, I know. I'd take him as a starter too.

Major sucsess with low splits big controll and vGB FB guys. Hit that **** all night long.

If his dur is actually 35 he can start and pitch 175 IP a year.

Sam Stewart won the Cy Young with a vs R of 59. Chadrader, your player will be good. Probably not Cy Young caliber but still really good.

At those projections or close that guys is going to be very good. The low vs L and so-so vs R arent' ideal, but everything else is so spectacular--100 velocity and 100 ground ball....and two pitches above 85? Of course a good infield to scoop up those ground balls helps, but with 100 velocity he's going to roll up some Ks. Stop worrying and get him in there.

I don't know if I'd be trusting those 12 mill advanced scouting projectins that much. A key sign your projections aren't all that great is 100 on control, velocity and gb/fb.

The other big sign when looking at that guy's player card is the fact he's at 24 durability (has never improved) and you project him to 35.

He has certainly improved at a rapid pace up until this point, but I wouldn't be all too surprised if he hardly improves at all this being his 4th season.

I'd rate him around 50th percentile as he is now and 30th percentile if he can improve everything by 5 points each.

All the proof you need that pitchers can get by with low vsL with other quality stats is Vance Weaver, a two time Cy Young winner and top five guy in most important pitching categories in Cobb World. Your guy should be ok.
