A) I agree about the scouting budget. This guy probably won't project anything like his stated numbers.
B) The prospect in question, if scouting turns out not to be the problem, seems like he might make a pretty decent ML mop, because he projects to a very high stam/dur combo and so would be an innings-eater, and I generally prefer mops of the talented but highly inconsistant variety over the consistantly highly mediocre variety.
C) It's hard to go too far wrong taking a SP with a high OVR, because there's always an owner somewhere who overvalues OVR and will overpay in a trade.
D) As for pitching splits, I'd rather see closer to even splits from SP and closers, but a mix of splits from other RP, with some who blow away RH and others who dominate LH.
