Slowdown tempo with fastbreak offense Topic

Would that even accomplish anything?

I dont think its even possible in the game engine. I have never run FB but I am pretty such you can't even select slowdown. You can go normal or uptempo only.

Nope, slowdown is an option - I've got a team that runs fastbreak (poorly), and even toyed with choosing slowdown one game based on matchup, but I figured it would kind of defeat the purpose...

Slowdown with Fastbreak is NOT an option. If you select slowdown, the engine will default to a normal tempo.

It may default to normal come game time, that does not make it not an option however. It is good to know that, as I suspected, it is not worth selecting...

It is not an option. Go ahead and try setting your team to it. You aren't going to be doing anything butsetting them to normal.

i used to think that my FB team played better when i put them on slowdown. i know that it doesnt do anything, but sometimes it made me feel good.

after a while i got tired of doing it.

based on last nights loss to a 22 point underdog, maybe i should try the slowdown button again.

the players guide or FAQ or somewhere explains that you cant run slowdown in FB - if you select it, it means normal

good luck

Every time I play slowdown, there are fewer shots taken in the game than when on normal speed.

Ive never had a fb team but how is it possible to play fb and slowdown?
10/30/2009 11:06 PM
I don't intend to set it to slowdown (I mentioned it seemed a bit counter productive), especially now that folks have explained that it defaults to normal, but you cannot say it isn't an option, when it clearly is. You can select it, therefore it is by definition an option. It may be an option that defaults to a different setting, but it is technically an "option"
