Okay, this league was run two seasons ago but due to deadbeat owners it fell through. It was such a fun league for the season it lasted, so I want to try it again.
We will start with using the 2009 season as our draft year, and will run once a year, with a prospect draft occuring before the start of the next season. The idea for the league is so great, because it gives us a chance to use players that we watch today, but in a different way then usual, with the ability to form a team the way you want it. As a Mets fan I know that I am always watching saying, we could really use a player "here", or Reyes is someone you build a team around but they did it the wrong way. I know that many other baseball fans have the same frustration and now its your chance to run the team.
Since I am trying to keep this as close to being like running a real team as possible, you can keep all your players if you'd like, there is no limit. The prospect draft will be 5 rounds. ML players WILL be able to be put into the minors. For a player to be eligible, all they would have needed to do is make an appearance in a ML game, but if they dont have a WIS season, they would have to be put in the minors.
So here are the Rules:
Draft Order: Snake style, 1-24, 24-1. (I will have someone else randomize the draft order once we are full)
Trades: YES, Draft picks can also be traded, but only in one season in advance (ie: in 2009 draft, you can only trade a 09 or 10 pick)
WW: NO
DH: AL League ONLY
LIVE REQUIREMENT: 60 Games
CAP: 160, no one will come close to reaching this, but might as well set it at an unreachable amount so that there are no problems.
