I have 15M int'l budget, 14M adv budget. I know neither is 'high' per se...

I just got an international pitcher I saw at 88 OVR, now when it's time to assign, he is at 82 OVR, w significant drops in meaningful categories. Should I figure his true proj is somewhere in between?

Probably. There would be slightly less variance with the IFA budget so it may be closer to 88 than 82.

tec, I'm not sure about that (though I'm not sure you're wrong, either).

It seems to me that.given equal $$ invested, ADV has historically been consistently more accurate than either COL or HS. This is just a sense, I've never studied it. But the game certainly could be programmed that way... anybody else think I'm right (or crazy) to think this?

Even so, he's dealing with the IFA market, not COL or HS.

D'oh!

It will be closer to 88, but your player will have chlamydia...I know that seems like a strange trade-off, but...

Ohhh, the clap, could be worse...I once had a whole team come down with leprosy.

I typically have "equal $$ invested" in advanced and college scouting. I have never once seen different projections for a player once he's signed. So in my experience, not only is variance equal, but the projections themselves are equal. IOW, for each dollar amount invested, there is only one set of projections that are used for a player for all budget types.

Hmmm.... maybe within a particular team, carn, but not from one team to another. 13m spent by one team will get a different set of ratings than 13m spent by another.

You could be right. I honestly have absolutely no idea about differences from team to team - I've never compared with another owner. All I know is that I have checked on my own team repeatedly, and the projections are always the same.
