Redshirting an ineligible Topic

would redshirting an ineligible freshman possibly effect his WE or other ratings, if you havent informed him on the redshirt?

You can not redshirt an ineligible.

At least not a D2/D1. At D3, I believe you can RS an ineligible, and it is just like a normal player. I am almost positive I RS'ed an ineligible once at D3. Can anyone confirm this is possible?

Yes, you are correct. Nobody is ineligible in d3, so you can redshirt them. They react just like anyone else (might drop WE or might not)

In D1 and D2 you cannot redshirt ineligibles because 5 years is the maximum.

Right, I assumed he was not talking about DIII because they are no ineligibles there, and because none of his teams were in DIII. But that's true, if you sign a guy at DIII who had the ineligible tag, you can still RS him because he won't exceed the max five years of eligibility.
