Walk-on or best remaining? Topic

I have approx. 2K to spend in DIII and 1 scolly to fill. I have already signed 3 Fr. and 1 So. I am leary about committing to 5 new players this season. I only have 2 Sr. this year so I will have only 2 spots to fill if I sign another player.

What are some thoughts on this. Should I take the best player available to me or take a walk-on this year and go for 3 players next season?

Tough to say. Is the best available someone you want, or just a body? If they are much worse than your other 4 you signed, then just take a walkon.

sometimes the best bet in these situations is a transfer or juco player.. If they know your system they wont hurt you plus you are not stuck with them for four years..

Take a look around during the final day of recruiting and see who is out there.

It's not uncommon for really good players to slip through the cracks. Sometimes you'll find a guy who is better than anyone you've signed.

If there is nobody you want though, it won't hurt you at all to take a walk on.

Take the best senior transfer available.

I would take a frosh(if he was right) and r/s him or one of the others. I hate jucos

If you're looking to have three openings next year, I would take a senior if you can get one cheap. That way, you'll still have 3 openings next year and get the carryover.

I'll sixth the notion that I'd try to find a transfer that knows your offense and defense.
