My Tarleton St. team in allen is currently a Man Def, however they are young and their def ratings are not that great. However I have recruited more def and they all have average to high def pot.

I have been thinking about switching to Zone to try and compensate.

What are anyones thoughts on this idea? Should I make the switch or just ride it out and wait until they improve?

If your players are worse than C+ on defensive IQ, they won't be very effective.

Also, you need higher DEF ratings for man2man than for zone.

My 2 Jr. & 3 Sr. are above a C+ for sure. My 1 So. is a B- and my 5 Fr. are C and below.

I guess this decision comes down to am I ready to scrap my team this season and build for next year or not.

So then what is the best Def going forward. Is Man for effective if you have the right players or is Zone better. I am not even going to FCP my team does not have the speed to run it effectively.

Depends on who you ask. Both defenses have coaches who swear by them.

Look at the top teams in your world and see what they run.Compare their players to yours; that may help you decide
