seems to me 2 out of the first three picks were wtf's? haha... jerry lucas going no.1 was a shocker for sure, jordan went 2nd, and even that could be interpreted as a mild surprise (he usually goes 3-5 in an odl) but hold the phone... sappy choosing cp3 at the no.3! passing on 2 guys that are odl staples.

no doubt, busted sim = new ways of looking at team building. not saying this is wrong, hell no, just saying this is the NEW ODL! lol.

neil at the no. 4... traded slots with me, betcha u'r rethinking your squad now. seems no. 4's a no-brainer. good luck!

well, finally moses goes at no. 4. still think he's the best value for an odl squad. if i hadn't switched with lhtgk, i would've taken him too. but wait, neil said he also wanted cp3. wtf? lol...

why take Lucas when you can get Moses for more or less the same money? Moses is THE sim God of the moment (esp. in 42m cap situation)

Yeah, I've wanted to build a team around CP3 for awhile now, and it would have been easy to add a supporting cast for him (3 rebounders + 3 permiter shooting guys, none of them really need to be studs) starting in the 3rd round. Now I've got Moses instead, and I'm still confident because that's probably a little better value, but I'm going to need a superstar backcourt player to complement him... and they might be slim pickings in the 3rd round.

I am assuming banditone has had a few chances with the guys who should/could have been taken... maybe taking Lucas shakes up his team composition. Gotta love trying something different. This is one of the reasons I take 12-13 in the slot selection. Seems like one unexpected drops to me and I get an earlier 2nd round to boot. Not know who it is that will drop is similar to taking Lucas number one.... something different to work with or build around.

Not arguing the value of Lucas v. Malone..... just saying if you have taken the usual suspects repeatedly the past xx seasons and not won 25-35 games, it may be time to shake it up a little. Or a lot.

Even if you have won a lot using the usual suspects, I applaud the creativity and stones needed to go outside the box. And after all, it is a game.

Thrilled to get Wilt at five.

I slept on the "Wilt vs Moses" decision, ultimately decided I didn't want to be so hamstrung by his salary (and his cheaper seasons are not really that special).

yeah, agree with the moses over wilt choice. russell goes 6th, about right. back in the day, any odl or funk 52 draft was: wilt no.1, russell no. 2, jordan no. 3.

at 42m Moses over Wilt all day long

78-79 Moses is the best player to own in a 42 mil league. Period.
