Anyone ever have a guy who has high potential in many areas and gains no improvement?

I have a fresh SG who had high potential in def, per, spd, and stam, but we are 6 games into the season plus 2 exhibition games and he's lost 1 point and hasn't gained anything else. he's getting about 11 min a game of playing time and is my backup sg. He is a 1 WE which i understand will limit his growth, but i've had 1 WE guys before with average potential who still had gains.

I never thought there were bust players in HD but this guy seems like one which could really screw my team up.

I've had guys with high potential/1 WE who don't show any gains until later in the season. Even then, they lose a faster than they gain.

You will be lucky to see any improvement at all.

I watched a 1 WE guy at MSU a few years back. I think he had gained maybe 5-10 points that year. He wasn't all lows for potential either he had a few highs.

WE used to be less important, but now it seems if you have low WE it really means your guys won't improve. My senior transfer at CSU Bernardino last year improved like 6 points and he had High ATH, SPD, and DEF. He didn't pick up the system either, which you also have to take into account when you have a low WE player (I could be wrong, it might solely be GPA but it seems the guys with low WE also don't learn the system well).

I avoid really low WE guys altogether, unless their cores are already good enough that they can contribute, and then I don't expect any improvement...

well luckily for me his cores are not too bad for DIV II. Good enough to be a backup at least. It just sucks he wont become a star that i thought he might. This is the first time i;ve run into a player who would not improve at all, regardless of work ethic. I've had low WE guys before, but this is a first for me.

Lesson learned lol.
