Will Drafted Player Sign? Topic

Howdy!!!

I just drafted a player #2 overall in my world's amateur draft.

The draft info was, "Looking to be drafted in the first five rounds. If not, he'll probably accept a scholarship to play DI college baseball."

I offered him what he demanded, $3,917,650.

His agent's reply was, "Donne is content with your offer, but is still unclear about his future. College is still an option, so he's gonna take his time with this decision. He'll let you know if anything changes. "

Is there anything I should do to entice him to sign?

More Money???

Invite???

Or is it just the luck of the draw?

Thanks guys!!!

IF he's drafted by the round he states... he'll sign. It will take a few days but he will sign.

Wait, offering more etc will NOT change anything. Just offer what his demands and wait.

Now he may ask for more money etc OR not?

Yeah, just wait for him to sign. Don't offer him extra money.

It's very rare that a player will end negotiations and go to college without giving you a chance to counter. I had it once, with a guy who wanted to be taken in the 1st round, but who I got as a supplemental 1st round pick. But that's not the case here.
