I figured in Rupp I'd use one last year to try and help kickstart a bad team, so I applied to University of Minnesota, Morris (0-27 last year)...

"Coach, thank you for your interest in joining our program. We were split about hiring you - we were all impressed with your recent success and we all think that you have the experience it takes to continue that success at this level, but we do not want a coach who is going to use our program as a stepping stone and leave at the first good offer. Based on the references we checked with, that concern was too much for us to overlook."

Interesting...you were trying to move from one DII school to another. I guess the fact that you were only there for one season prompted the red flag.

Why not stay at CSU and kickstart a mediocre team?

I'm scaling back to just my Wooden team, and figured I'd free up the team now for someone who can really do something with them, and spread a little cheer around.

As it is, I'll stick it out with CSUSB this year and see where it goes.

My freshman baseball coach was Jeff Nardone, but that was years ago. Had to ask.
