So for the 1st time ever I got an email from a player who "LOVES" me who I actually like but the problem is he has a 1 WE. Now I was actually looking to recruit this player as he was a highly ranked player the season before. What I think happened is he got snatched up by a D1 team who then redshirted him despite the player not wanting to be redshirted and his WE dipped a bunch before he decided to transfer or got cut.

My question is to anybody who has recruited a 1 WE player recently (or something very close) how much do these players actually improve over their careers? And how hard is it to bump their WE up?

There are tons of threads about this search for them.

You'll get 10 points max in a year, his WE will never increase.

I recruited a four-star 1 WE player to be a career backup (before potential). Each season, he would improve some as the season progressed and lose most the gains during the off-season. He graduated only slightly better than he was when I signed him.

What about a guy who once had a higher WE, but had it drop due to an unwanted redshirt, will his 1 WE be treated the same as a guy who was generated with a 1 WE?

So let's say kmasonbx is right re: how the player arrived at a 1 WE. In other words, he dropped from a significantly higher number, maybe much, much higher. Do you think that HD should change their WE model so that his WE will return to a number nearer his original WE after he leaves the team that RS'd him? Maybe not all the way, since his attitude has taken a hit, but after he goes to another team, his poor attitude would improve significantly, right? What do you think?

Tough to argue that. It would require the engine to retain the players old WE value though and without knowing how the code/database looks behind the game I don't know that that is possible.
