I was wondering if I renegotiate a player contract for player and give him a bonus, is the bonus subtracted this year or next? For instance I have a pleyr that has already been arbitrated for 4 million this year, and i want to renegotiate his contract now. I would like to give him a large bonus and smaller yearly salaries since I have a ton of excess cash. If the bonus is subtracted next season then it is a waste of my money

You arbitrated for this season? If so, he already has his one-year contract and you can't re-negotiate it.

Bonuses come out of the first year of the new contract. So if you offered him an extension now, the new contract would start next season and that's when the bonus would be paid.
