the best free throw defense is to have chuck hays on your team. once you watch that guy take a few of them, you can never think of free throws the same way again. i don't understand it personally, when he was a young player at UK he shot them fine. he got worse every year. i don't even know if he is still pro, but last time i watched him, i couldn't believe he was serious. it was like somebody is tasering him in the back right before he shoots, his back convulses, and then he half stutter steps, and then shoots. i half expected the refs to call a travel :P anyway, i figure if someone watches him take a few free throws, and then goes to take some and he is standing there and does the back spasm stutter step thing, the shooter would have to bust out laughing. and, that whole thing where if you think about doing something right and see the ball go in, you do it better... well, i have to imagine that would work against you if you just watched chuck shoot a couple.
