Would a B- team in D2 have any chance against a D1 D- sim? What if the D2 used booster gifts?

I think it's a $ issue, and with the way the sims spend $, I'm pretty sure the answer is no (but I don't know for sure).

Do non-A/A+ D2 teams have any shot at D1 players? (especially a B- team?)

If it is not the sims first option, yeah. Can cost you over 10k, but I had a few seasons where I started near 40k and had no battles. I ended up having all my players locked up with 18k-22k over. I dumped it all on a player for shts and giggles because it was a no risk/upgrade reward type thing. I signed them both. I have no idea how much the sim dumped into them or how much I really needed to use, but I spent all my money in 3 cycles each time.
