When selecting a offense is it better to look at the skills of your players or their IQ? For example, the fast break requires good stamina and a deep bench. If you have a heft advantage in stamina and a deep bench over your opponent, but most of your starters are D's in the offense, will it hurt you a lot?

I would also think that speed and athleticism would help in a FB offense.

IQs are a huge boost at low levels. I would want at least C's in anything I would run for the whole game, but B's and A's are what you should shoot for, for all your starters.

If anything practice any new def/off you want to use and you can switch over to it if your team fits it more. I would only do this though if the players that your switching for are Frosh or Soph though.

Thats my 2 cents.

How long of practicing at 20 mins does it take to bring players up from D to B? I am recruiting players who can run the offense I want, but I am more concerned with my existing team. Their skill set looks like it would be successful, but their IQs just aren't there.

Iguana1's BBIQ Practice Minute Chart: These are the ranges
I've found based on the 4 seasons since the iq grading has
changed.
The number on the assumes a "fast" learner. WE of 80 and
GPA over 3.2. The number on the right is for a slower learner.
WE around 40, GPA under 2.5.
Of course there are extreme cases on both ends. I had a player
with a WE of 11 that took about 20% longer than the second
number.

Am I reading this correctly...

To go from a F-D- would be 50 minutes with a fast learner.
To go from a D- to a D would be an additional 50?
1/13/2010 3:44 PM
Yes, that is correct.

How do minutes accumulate? In other words if I need 200 minutes to go from a F to a C-, and I allocate 20 minutes of practice time, how long would it take to get to the 200? 10 years, 10 days, 10 games?
1/13/2010 3:56 PM
10 practice days

Great, thanks for the help guys
