player awards ? Topic

Does having players selected as AA, POY, All-Con, or anything for that matter, have any impact on program prestige?

Seems as though it would, but I would like to know for certain if anyone can tell me.

Awards are window dressing.

I've never understood why getting a player drafted has impact on prestige but having player of the year, NCOY and all-americans has no impact.

I think the prestige is a gift for losing a player to EE.

yeah, also because losing a player to EE is a reflection of that player being good, where as the other awards are usually a reflection of a team being bad.

That isn't quite right. COY and POY are usually reserved for good teams. Freshman of the Year is usually on a rebuilding program, but not always (I threw that in so that I wouldn't get a few coaches showing examples of Freshman of the year on a winning program.)
