ineligibles and study hall time Topic

I know that at D3, a lot of study hall is required for an ineligible recruit to maintain the 2.0. 2 questions:

1) about how much time is typically needed?

2 as the player gets older, does this amount of study hall time needed decrease?

i guess what i'm getting at is if it's worth recruiting an eligible at the D3 level if his stats are excellent...

Yeah, even with 5 Sh mins I have never had any issues. Some will go with 10, but they have been treated as any other player for me.

If you're asking about his first season, you should put every minute not allocated to Off and Def into SH. Minutes simply do not register in any other 'skill' category (since they aren't actually allowed to practice). Perhaps surprisingly, that will leave your ineligible recruit with a 3.0-3.5-ish GPA as he begins his eligibility. Normal allocation seems to work from there.

I'm not sure if that is what you were asking, but with question 1) distinguished from question 2) it seemed that you were asking about his first season, and then about the rest. The first season is as simple as pie. All available mins to SH.

So, yes. They are worth recruiting, if they are worth recruiting.

Dogget, he's talking about DIII, so you don't want to allocate all minutes to SH because inelligible's can play immediately in DIII and practice with the team, and thus their ratings rise/fall depending on practice minutes.

Also, take what furry says with a big grain of salt (shocker). I've had plenty of inelligibles in DIII that needed between 16-24 minuntes of SH to maintain their grades.

The benefit of ineligibles in D3 is that they can play right away and won't go juco on you. The downside is that they're still stupid. I've done it a couple times and I've had to sink about 20 SH minutes their first year just to stay afloat. That's a pretty good chunk of minutes that you could be putting somewhere else.

Never gave anyone more than 12 min SH time. Only a couple times more than 10.
