Recruit 6 freshman and recruit a JUCO with that same class in one of the next two year
I don't think you can recruit the JC players to push the class over 6 (I may be mistaken) but a SIM definitely can. This looks like the case here. A human coach recruited 5 players in that class and then the team and a SIM took over. That SIM recruited 2 players that were SO JC's to push it to 7 before the current human coach took over the next year.
Nothing against the current coach and his success because I don't think having 1 guy over the 6 man limit guarantees success but it also doesn't really hurt if the players are somewhat decent.
I really don't get why SIMS are allowed to have more players in a given class considering any offseason a human coach can take over that team if they are qualified and essentially get around the class restriction rule. Is it really so hard to make a SIM controlled team programmed to only fill 6 spots in a class and then look only at players who are not of the same eligibility year?
The ONLY way a SIM team should be allowed to have more than 6 players in a class is if they are walkons to fill empty spots, IMO.
