So, last day of Phelan recruiting (I'm at DI St. John's), and I have a lot of $$ over, 1 scholly open. Didn't like any of the players , so I thought I'd just grab a senior DIII level transfer for cheap (essentially a walk-on), and roll 25% of my cash over, take another shot next year. Turns out you can't do that -- my AD won't even let me offer the kid a scholarship. Has this happened to anyone, or am I just unlucky? The rationale makes sense, I guess -- I'm assuming it's to make it harder for people to stockpile a massive recruiting bankroll -- just thought it was strange.
