Looking for the DIII conference Topic

I'm new to HD. I am looking for a DIII conference that:

- Has a high percentage of human coaches.
- Has banter between the coaches.
- Is competitive, but not cutthroat.
- Has coaches that I can learn from and are willing to share their knowledge.
- Is a strong conference within their world.
- Has an available team that is not in such a horrible shape that it will take 5+ seasons just to bring it to a point where it finish in the lower half of the conference. By this I mean, I don't want a team that has 8 seniors graduating. Or 6 players in 4 different classes that have ratings 75-100 points below the league average. Or the team prestige is C-, D, or D-, where everyone else in the conference is >B.

Do not take my requests wrong. I don't mind taking my lumps and learning. I don't mind building a team and loosing a lot of games doing so. But there is a fine line between rebuilding and being the Washington Generals to the Harlem Globetrotters.

I have been poking about using the limited search the world features HD offers when you register for a world with no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Louisana is a decent DIII starting point. Rupp world. Would have to sign up today I believe. B prestige - which is very helpful in recruiting. Our league has 6 opennings right now, so we could use more human coaches. However, it may be hard for you to find a conference with a decent team AND a lot of human coaches. I am not sure though. We'd love to have ya! We are hardly cutthroat and do have some banter (at least among 3 of the coaches)

Well, if It wasn't past signing, I would say that Wooden woudl be a great place to go. Little East. Or alternately, Rupp, Upstate, Brandeis. . . but you are about a day late on both.

The ASC in knight looks decent.

We have an opein in the midwest, a 4 conf tourny, and ususally 3-8 teams in the nt plus a very active conf corner. And I am willing to help if you needed via s/m or in the conf corner. I a A+ presitge team to move to this conf if that says anything

Wooden. Sucks because it just started, and you'd have to wait a bit, but it's awesome. I'm sure other guys will give you good conferences to look at it (I will suggest the MinnIAC :)), but you should definitely learn the game in Wooden D3.

LIttle EAst! Only THree slots to go!

Only thing about wooden guys is that it is a 1 game a day league compared to the faster 2 games a day leagues. Personally I think recruiting is the hardest thing to learn and by getting more years in your getting more practice recruiting.

And paying more.

Personally, I think the slower the game is at first, the better. Just my opinion, but I think newer players should always start out in a one-a-day world.

Ya I guess it depends how you look at it. If you buy the 5pack its like $6.50 a season which you can make up by just eating soup at home one night instead of going to a fast food place.

I understand though money could have something to do with it. Also, everyone does have their own pace, if you can't get online during the day for 10 mins or something then 2-day is harder to do cause you cant do the noon game set-up really.

$6.50/season, what game am I playing?

You pay $32.50 for a five pack?

tip -- I'll pitch the NESCAC in Allen (which starts its NT tonight). Worcester State is open, others may open up -- #3 RPI conf this year, is traditionally strong in the world, but not so strong a new coach can't come in and have success. Lots of long-term coaches (at least 1/2 the league has been there 8 seasons or more), and a lively and friendly coaches' corner.

Wooden is arguably the best world and definately the most active D3 in whatif. Good conferences that are not too cutthroat in Wooden are (in no particular order):

Little East Conference

American Southwest Conference

NESCAC

Wisconsin

Minnesota IAC

If you want a bigger challenge, there are some really, really competitive conferences in Wooden. They are:

Upstate

Midwest

Michigan (MIAA)

North Atlantic Conference (NAC)

Wooden is the best D3 but two a day worlds are far superior IMO. If you wanted to join a two a day world i'd say Tark of Phelan. In Tark (where i am) join the Old Dominion AC. We have three traditionally strong teams, but none that will go undefeated every year. Last year we were #1 in conference RPI, but a lot of those coaches for D2, leaving some good teams to be had. We'd always like to have a new guy.

he's already in tark. and probably sees how boring of a barren wasteland it is. . . .

hey tip. i sent you a sitemail. you can coach my "other" DIII wooden team this season. i picked it up to build up the Little East. you can coach for the season. check out wooden and see if it lives up to all the hype. Plus its a great way to scout and find a team to call home for next season.

let me know
