here's the situation: D2 Knight. B+ prestige, my first season with the team.

I filled my 3 open slots far more cheaply than I thought I would, leaving me a substantial amount of remaining $$. I know I can just rest comfortably, happy with my incoming recruits and bank 25% for next season. However, I have 3 bigs graduating next season (I only brought in 1 this season), and a number of my scouted D I prospects have dropped already.

should I:

1. do nothing, take my 3 very nice recruits and wait til next season

2. throw some dough at my favorite of the recent dropdown big men (and cut a carryover slacker) to get a jump on refilling (and getting rid of an underperformer)

or

3. continue to wait on some of the remaining big men still showing as D I to see if my favorites drop and then go after them for the same reasons as #2?

*I off possibility #4 - another pulldown - since the only D I prospect within 250 miles of me on my list is the #138 center, and while my remaining war chest is far more than I expected, I am not 100% sure that, even if this player would give me the backup message that I can afford the pull down...

You can't cut/rescind after signings begin, I believe.

that rule didnt exist in the early days of HD and they changed it, dont remember why......take a look at old dev chats....

I would assume its changed so you can't go into recruiting and then end up cutting guys after you have all your scholarships filled. So you can use up your over money, since you only get to carry over a percentage of the money.

I get that - but why? If I recruit locally and/or intelligently and fill my spots economically and have enough over to try to land another recruit, why not allow me do so? I am not using anyone else's money or anything, just trying to use all of the money allocated to me...

As soon as next seasons recruits come out you can purchase FSS/Scouting and get a head start on recruiting.

yeah, I will, but I had enough to grab another D I drop down PF with high pot in ATH, REB, LP, BLK and STA...
