How many walk on's can you have without getting a penalty? I think 2 is the limit but not sure.

You get a penalty with 2 walkons I believe

That's good if the penalty is small with 2 walk ons. I needed 5 recruits this year, and only got 3, but they were quite good I think. I have no seniors this year so taking the walk ons will help balance my class out, and it will give my existing players, and new freshmen more PT. I had 5 freshmen last year too, so as long as the penalty is not too great, this may be beneficial, although it was not intentional. I did want one other player, but I ran out of money before I could seal the deal.

I have had 4 walkons and I really didn't have a noticeable penalty. I have read that the penalty starts at 3 walkons, but it isn't dramatic by any means.

This is correct. Yes it is very small but it starts with 2.

Disclaimer: the following happened BEFORE potential:

At Ole Miss in Tark one season, I ended up with three walk-ons. I was worried about the practice penalty, but what I found was that the extra playing time that my nine scholarship players got, more than offset any practice penalty. Not sure that this would still be the case post-potential, what with players maxing out earlier, but I wouldn't worry about the penalty at all.

I don't quite understand this "penalty" that you all speak of...could you clarify please?

Supposedly the players don't improve as much because they practice against walkons.

Ahhh, thank you...I was wondering why the improvement was kind of stunted on my team lol.
