I'm going with A. B is second and C is a distant third.

I like A, although B would still be better than C.

I like your proposals in descending order: A, B, C.

I like C better than D, which was the old system that awarded the higher pick to the team whose departing player signed first.

C

Let the crappy team get the better pick. If he's a tanking tanker, boot his ***.

I actually think that's a nice idea, but I had to redline you because I prefer for people to work with the options given. There are a hundred different ways to change it that would make sense, but I prefer to keep this poll as simple and straightforward as possible.

It's your thread, but I'm not for any syatem that automatically forces all RP, C, DH, and 1B to the back of the line, and allows mediocre SS types to go to the front. So I'll pick "A" then.

B, no doubt. that's how MLB does it, so that's how we should do it. C is ludicrous, and it encourages the top teams to keep their FAs forever.

Was waiting for you to respond to this thread:)

Ovr isn't the best way to rate a player, but may be a smart way to do things.

I'm fine with how things are despite benefitting the least from it every season.

BTW, in the real ML, does the 2nd signed Type A (or B) result in a lower pick too? Meaning if I have two Type As that got signed, will they both be assigned according to Ovr or will other players get mixed in because I had 2 signed?

you make a lot of sense so i added your idea as a minor variant to B. i'll put you down for B with A as your 2nd choice.

I'll mark you down as giving A a 2nd place vote.

A

I can't argue with A or B. In my recent situation B would have benefited me, but that isn't my deciding factor. I'll go with 1st-B because thats how MLB does it and 2nd-A

B, provided it isn't based solely on overall.

Then A, because that is an inexact way to determine who is most valuable. Only problem with A is that a Type A who is still available after free agency still has his tag and if signed right before the draft, would technically give the highest pick. You would just need to end that type of compensation at the FA deadline.

C is a terrible way to do it.

I go back and forth on A and B, but both are better than the current structure. for purposes of the poll, I'll say A.
