Anyone have draft results from 1999, 2000 or 2001 that they'd be willing to share?

I love the private forums, but one major drawback is not being able to compare drafts between various progressive leagues.

I have 2000 and 2001. This was from a dual league progressive that just folded after 12 seasons. I removed all the 1970 and 1971 players.

I tend to draft solely by need - if I need a SS, I take a SS even if there's a stud OF available. So I'm kind of oblivious to the value of draft picks.

Each of those drafts were in a progressive with only 14 keepers...so there may be some guys mixed in who are not rooks.

You really should keep those 1970 and 1971 players in there. The fact that someone took a pitcher in the 5th spot, would affect the picks made after that. Comparing one or two drafts is like complaining about your hitters after 3 games. Its too small of a sample size, and there are too many variables. You need to average the results over 5 or 6 drafts minimum.

Each draft will vary greatly based on team needs too. That middle 1st round SS might jump up to the top 5 if your all-star just retired and you don't need another OF.

I agree with you completely, the reason i took them out was just so it wouldn't be confusing. Some owners may not know which players are from which season. Every draft will be different, especially a dual year draft. That is why i noted it was a dual year draft. I know owners who will take a top OF, even when they have 4 and need a pitcher. Then you have owners who take a need, a top pitcher is available, but they need a SS. It is really very difficult to use other owner's drafting idea's to help you, but it never hurts to look. I do agree however, you would need a decent sample size in most cases.

Totally agree - you don't really know how to gauge a player's worth because its so subjective. That's why comparing other drafts is such a valuable tool.
