Pulling a DI recruit down Topic

Can someone give me an example of a step by step process of pulling down a DI recruit to DII? Tell me how to use your home visits, campus visits, evals, etc. I need an example of the steps you've taken to get a pulldoen. If you don't want to sitemail it, send it to my e-mail (. I,m getting frustrated.

Thanks

First you need to send 1 call to every potential D I recruit you think you might want to recruit. If they have stars forget it. If they are above #160 or so (depending on position and your prestige) pretty much forget it. Wait for the next cycle. If the recruit gives you a response that mentions "back-up" he may eventually drop down and he can usually be pulled down. Beyond about 270 miles or so it is kind of expensive. If I get the back-up message and the kid is close enough, offer a scholarship and I start with 10 evals. I pulled 1 kid down with the 10 evals in Tark this time around, another took a few more...

I pulled the 150th center and 122nd guard down a couple days ago. I also had several back up options from other high ranked guys. Just send out calls and see what happens. Evals is what you'll need to do after that.

10 is a lot, I can usually pull down rated players with 5 or 6 evals.

Does it matter if you spread the evals out over several cycles or just do 5 or more evals at one time? What is best?

I do them all at once. I don't think there is a difference, but the quicker i pull him down the quicker less coaches back off because he won't be undecided.

122 is pretty darn good for D2.

Yeah, shame he signed with a div I school. He had high potential in ath/speed/def/bh/passing/per along with solid starting ratings. I landed the big though, and decided to pull the schollie on a 130ish SF.

Depends on how good the kid is and what your prestige is. Over a few seasons with A/A+ prestige it was generally less than 10 but in another world with B/B+ it was up to 15 for the highly ranked (160ish) guys.

I always threw them out in increments of 5 per cycle until he popped.

Amber, You are able to do this because of your stellar prestige. Someone with my crappy prestige (B- or below generally) needs a minimum of 10 evals, sometimes as many as 20 to get the pull down. -- and then, I have had some owners get into a battle w/me after I completed the pull down. Beware of poachers! LOL ;-)
