Quick question: If a player is redshirted, is there any reason to give him study hall minutes since he can't play anyway?

Only if you want to make sure he is eligible to play next season.

Ah ok, gotcha. So basically I can take a few liberties with his study hall and use those minutes on other things early on as long as his GPA eventually finds its way back to 2.0 by the year's end. Thanks!

Someone else can correct me on this, but keep in mind that if a redshirt player goes ineligible, rating improvements stop for the ineligible time period, just like a non-redshirt player.
