Lineup for these guys in Flex/Press? Topic

I'm looking for some input on how I could best set up my lineup/depth chart for this DI team running flex/press. I've tried a few different things, but getting mixed and confusing results....

I've always had Campo and Callicoat start at PG and SG, respectively.

I've tried Harpole at SF -- last season he did well; this season, not so much. I've tried Walls at SF, but I'm not sure if I like that with his low SPD.

I've tried Delano and Iverson at C; tried Delano at PF with Iverson at C at the same time. Again, I'm not sure I like that because their low SPD. Also tried Perry at PF.

If anyone can provide any insight and input, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Any particular reason you aren't starting Harpole? Better shooter and better IQ's make up for the sligh loss in Ath/BH and PA. Anyway, you want speed, ath, IQ and de for your press, and you want good passers in your bigs with shooters at the 1-3. Here is my take:

PG: Harpole

SG: Callicoat

SF: Toughy, defensively I'd go with Hubbard (SPD), offensively Walls. But weighing both, Walls has the bigger upside all around.

PF: Wherry. Best passer of your bigs. Cores will continue to improve.

C: Delano. Can't beat that ATH and he's solid in his cores. Decent enough passer.

For press you want SPD, IQ and DE, flex wants good outside shooters and good passers, bigs who can score is a bonus.

Yeah, as I noted, I had tried Harpole at SF, although not this season at PG. My rationale there was that Campo is a pretty good choice for PG on his own merit, and Harpole's abilities translate fairly well for a guard-oriented SF. Even is he isn't a true SF, better to have him on the floor over the other two "true" SF options. I hate to take Campo off the floor so that either Hubbard or Walls play more, because I don't feel like either are among my top players....

At PG, also consider the fact that Campo is a soph. Getting playing time for him at his young age could really pay off in the long run...

All depends on if he's in a "win now" state, too.

You don't have to take him off the floor, making him the first guy of the bench at both PG and SG will benefit him just as well. Harpole takes a penalty at small forward so his stats are as much of a benefit compared to if he were a natural SG. Harpole gives you the best "win now" option at PG due to IQ and PE in the flex.

doomey: I thought there was no "position penalty".... just whatever the attributes are. (I know this debate has gone around in circles.)

Well the FAQ states a penalty, it just doesn't go to much in depth.
